Add a fascinating piece of early American copper coinage to your collection with this 1817 Coronet Head Large Cent – 13 Stars in Fine+ (F+) condition. Struck from copper, this historic cent dates back more than two centuries and represents the large-format cents that played an important role in everyday commerce during the early United States.

Designed by Robert Scot, the obverse features a left-facing portrait of Liberty wearing a coronet inscribed LIBERTY, with the date 1817 below. This example is identified as the 13 Stars variety, with thirteen stars surrounding Liberty to represent the original thirteen states.

The reverse features the denomination ONE CENT surrounded by a continuous wreath, with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA encircling the design and the fraction 1/100 below the wreath.

In Fine+ (F+) condition, this coin exhibits moderate circulation wear while retaining stronger detail than typically seen at the standard Fine level. Liberty's portrait, coronet, date, stars, reverse wreath, denomination, and major lettering remain clearly recognizable, giving the coin excellent historic character for an example more than 200 years old.

With its 13 Stars variety, early 1817 date, substantial copper planchet, and classic Coronet Head design, this Large Cent is an excellent addition to an early U.S. type set, Large Cent collection, or collection of historic American copper coinage.
