Add an impressive piece of early American silver coinage to your collection with this 1818 Capped Bust Quarter in Very Good (VG) Details condition. Struck more than two centuries ago, this historic quarter is composed of approximately 89.24% silver and 10.76% copper and represents an early era of United States Mint production.

The Capped Bust Quarter design was created by John Reich. The obverse features a left-facing portrait of Liberty wearing a cloth cap secured by a band inscribed LIBERTY, surrounded by 13 stars with the date 1818 below. The reverse features a heraldic eagle with a shield on its chest, holding arrows and an olive branch, with the denomination 25 C. beneath.

In Very Good (VG) Details condition, this coin exhibits considerable circulation wear while retaining clearly identifiable major design elements. Liberty's portrait, date, stars, reverse eagle, denomination, and portions of the surrounding lettering remain visible, giving the coin the authentic character expected from an early 19th-century issue.

The Details designation indicates that the coin has an impairment—such as cleaning, scratches, environmental damage, rim issues, or another surface problem—that prevents it from receiving a straight numerical grade. Even with an impairment, an 1818 Capped Bust Quarter offers collectors an accessible opportunity to own a genuine piece of early U.S. silver coinage dating back more than 200 years.
