The reverse displays a heraldic eagle with a Union shield on its chest, clutching arrows and an olive branch beneath the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the denomination 50 C. The Small 0 variety is distinguished by the smaller numeral "0" in the date, adding an extra level of interest for variety collectors.
