The Capped Bust Dime design is attributed to John Reich, with modifications by William Kneass for the later issues of the series. The obverse features a left-facing portrait of Liberty wearing a cap secured by a band inscribed LIBERTY, surrounded by 13 stars with the date 1831 below. The reverse features a heraldic eagle with a shield on its chest, holding arrows and an olive branch, with the denomination 10 C. beneath.
In Good/Very Good (G/VG) Details condition, this coin displays significant circulation wear while retaining recognizable major design elements. The date, Liberty's portrait, reverse eagle, denomination, and portions of the surrounding lettering remain visible, giving the coin plenty of authentic early-American character.
