Struck from approximately 89.24% silver and 10.76% copper, the 1837 issue represents the final year of the Capped Bust Dime series, before the Liberty Seated Dime was introduced later that year.

The Capped Bust Dime design originated with John Reich and was later modified by William Kneass. The obverse features a left-facing portrait of Liberty wearing a cap secured by a band inscribed LIBERTY, surrounded by 13 stars with the date 1837 below. The reverse displays a heraldic eagle with a shield on its chest, clutching arrows and an olive branch, with the denomination 10 C. beneath.

In Fine (F) Details condition, this coin retains moderate design definition despite circulation wear. Liberty's portrait, date, stars, reverse eagle, denomination, and major lettering remain clearly recognizable.

This example has been designated Bent & Environmental Damage. The coin exhibits a bend or curvature along with surface alteration caused by environmental exposure. Environmental damage may appear as discoloration, corrosion, pitting, staining, or changes in surface texture.
