1843 Large Cent Mature Head, Large Letters VG/F Details
Add a distinctive piece of early American copper coinage to your collection with this 1843 Coronet Head Large Cent, featuring the Mature Head, Large Letters variety in Very Good/Fine (VG/F) Details condition. Struck from copper, this historic one-cent piece represents an era when pennies were significantly larger and heavier than today's modern cents.
The obverse features Liberty facing left, wearing a coronet inscribed LIBERTY, surrounded by 13 stars. The reverse displays ONE CENT within a wreath, encircled by UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The Mature Head, Large Letters variety is a distinctive design combination from 1843, a year known for multiple Large Cent varieties.
In VG/F Details condition, this coin retains recognizable design features with moderate circulation wear and remaining detail consistent with the Very Good to Fine range. The Details designation indicates a condition issue that prevents a standard numerical grade; the specific issue should be confirmed from the coin or its holder.
With its collectible design variety, historic 1843 date, and classic copper composition, this Large Cent makes an appealing addition to an early American coin collection.
