1853 Seated Liberty Half Dime W/ Arrows - VG
Add a historic piece of mid-19th-century American silver coinage to your collection with this 1853 Liberty Seated Half Dime in Very Good (VG) condition. Struck from 90% silver and 10% copper, the Half Dime carried a face value of five cents and was one of the smallest silver denominations ever issued by the United States Mint.
Designed by Christian Gobrecht, the obverse features Liberty seated on a rock beside a Union shield while holding a liberty pole topped with a cap. The reverse displays the denomination HALF DIME surrounded by a wreath, creating the classic appearance associated with the Liberty Seated series.
Graded Very Good (VG), this coin exhibits moderate to heavy circulation wear while retaining clearly identifiable major design elements. The date, Liberty's figure, shield, reverse wreath, denomination, and surrounding lettering remain visible, giving the coin plenty of authentic historic character.
