Add a beautifully aged piece of pre-Civil War American silver coinage to your collection with this 1858 Liberty Seated Quarter in Very Fine (VF) condition with natural toning. Struck from 90% silver and 10% copper, this historic quarter represents the classic silver coinage that circulated throughout the United States during the mid-19th century.

Designed by Christian Gobrecht, the obverse features Liberty seated on a rock beside a Union shield inscribed LIBERTY, while holding a liberty pole topped with a cap. The reverse displays a heraldic eagle with a shield on its chest, clutching arrows and an olive branch, surrounded by UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the denomination QUAR. DOL.

Graded Very Fine (VF), this coin displays moderate circulation wear while retaining strong overall detail. Liberty's figure, shield, date, eagle, feathers, lettering, and other major design elements remain well defined for the grade.

This example also features toning, giving the silver surfaces distinctive coloration and character developed through age and environmental exposure. Toning patterns and shades can vary considerably from coin to coin, making each example visually unique.

With its pre-Civil War date, 90% silver composition, classic Liberty Seated design, and attractive aged appearance, the 1858 Liberty Seated Quarter is an excellent addition to a U.S. type set, Liberty Seated collection, or collection of historic American silver coinage.
