1925 Stone Mountain Commemorative Half Dollar - AU

Struck from 90% silver and 10% copper, this commemorative half dollar was authorized to help fund the Stone Mountain memorial project in Georgia.
Designed by sculptor Gutzon Borglum, the obverse depicts Confederate Generals Robert E. Lee and Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson on horseback. The reverse features an eagle perched on a mountain ledge alongside inscriptions referencing the memorial and the Southern soldiers the coin was created to commemorate.
In About Uncirculated (AU) condition, this example retains excellent overall detail with only slight traces of circulation wear on the highest points.
