Back in the 1950's, bus tokens were required to get around Honolulu. The Honolulu Rapid Transit Authority 'Hula Girl' in 1951. Tourists kept them as souvenirs, causing a token shortage in Hawaii. The 'Hula Girl' was soon replaced by a plastic design and the 'Hula Girl' disappeared forever.
