1857 Liberty Seated Half Dime (Fine)
The 1857 Liberty Seated Half Dime in Fine (F) condition displays moderate wear on high points, but key details like Liberty’s shield, gown folds, and most stars are still clearly visible. This small silver coin, struck from 90% silver, features the seated figure of Liberty on the obverse and a simple wreath surrounding the denomination on the reverse. It was minted just before the denomination was discontinued in favor of the nickel five-cent piece introduced in 1866.
